Public Consultation Results for Stanley Waterfront Master Plan Project  Announced

FIDC have announced that the Stanley Waterfront Master Plan project entered a second phase of public consultation between the 23rd of July 2012 and the 19th August 2012.  The purpose of this consultation was to obtain the public’s views regarding the suitability of a selected scheme for the redevelopment of the Stanley waterfront.  Consultation was carried out in the form of an online survey that consisted of eight multiple choice questions.  Hard copies of the information, diagrams and survey were also made available upon request.

A total of 49 surveys were completed, 46 of which were carried out online and a further 3 were submitted as hard copies.  A majority (82%) of the respondents either ‘very strongly’ or ‘fairly strongly’ favoured the development of the Stanley Waterfront.  However, there was no clear favourite for the single most important factor for the proposed development.  Three options received equal support from the respondents and they were ‘improved amenities for residents’, ‘improved amenities for visitors’ and ‘economic return’.

If you wish to receive a copy of the report or wish to discuss the results of the consultation please contact FIDC on 27211.
