Falklands : Falklands Vote 98.8% Yes

Of the 1519 votes cast 1513 votes were yes and 3 votes no

Falklands Vote 98.8% Yes

At 2240hrs LMT Keith Padgett the Returning Officer announced that of the 1519 regestered voters who cast a ballot,1513 voted YES and 3 voted NO.  Four people did not vote Yes and one paper was spoiled.

 

Brad Smith of the Observer Corp announced that the vote was a reflection of free and fair and said it was the will and free spirit of the Falkland Islanders and the vote was executed in accordance with international standards and international laws.  He paid tribute to the Registrar General who made every possible effort to ensure that all people who could vote cast a vote.

 

Mr Juan Heano translated the announcement into Spanish.
