ANNUAL CHARITY FIRE-ENGINE PULL NETS 1,743.52 FOR LOCAL CHARITY

By J. Brock (FINN)

The Falkland Islands Fire & Rescue Service have raised 1,743.52 for the Stephen Jaffray Memorial Fund. Fire fighters completed their annual charity fire-engine pull on Saturday 30th November 2013. All monies raised provide much-needed funds for the local charity which supports the families of those overseas through illness, and is the chosen charity of the Fire & Rescue Service.

The final total raised this year, as verified by Standard Chartered Bank, was 1,743.52 and means that over 22,000.00 has been raised during the ten years that the event has been held.

Chief Fire Officer, Gardner Fiddes, commented I would like to thank the community who have supported the fire engine pull on the day and over the last 10 years and to thank to Byron Holdings Ltd and Warrah DesignWorkshop for their support over the same period. I would also like to thank Jock Elliot, South Atlantic Trading, Malvina House Hotel, Lifestyles and Mr I & Mrs E Jaffray. A huge thank you must also go to the full-time and retained firefighters for their efforts and support without which the fire engine pull could not take place. I know many people donated funds on the day I dont know who you are but you do so thank you.

For further information, please contact the Falkland Islands Fire & Rescue Service on +500 27471.
