DAPM PRESS CONFERENCE

Executive Council will hold a press conference on the Development Aid Planning Mission (DAPM) on Monday 20 January 2014, from 2 - 2.30pm in the Governorís Office at the Castle. The media are invited to attend.

The press conference will be led by Councillors, who will give an overview of the Budget Settlement and Aide Memoire for 2014-15, signed between SHG and DfID. Questions will then be taken from the media.

The actual signing of the Aide Memoire is expected to take place early on the morning of Saturday 18 January 2014, before the DAPM team departs St Helena. A press release and the Aide Memoire will therefore issue on Saturday. The Aide Memoire will be signed by HE Governor Capes and DfID Deputy Head of the Overseas Territories Department, Dr Kenny Dick.
The press conference panel members are:

Councillors Les Baldwin, Ian Rummery, Christine Scipio-OíDean, Cyril George and Lawson Henry.
This yearís DAPM comprised Dr Kenny Dick, together with Senior Social Development Adviser, Dr Mary Thompson and Senior Economic Adviser, Doug Winslow.

Discussions centred on performance, spending and outputs for the current financial year and the budget proposed by SHG for next year.

The DAPM team will depart St Helena tomorrow, Saturday 18 January 2014.
