ARGENTINES CONTINUE FALKLANDS CLAIM IN CUBA

By J. Brock (FINN)

Argentine Foreign Minister, Hector Timerman has again staked an Argentine claim on the Falkland Islands, this time at the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States Conference (CELAC), this time held in Cuba.

His aim was to get an agreement amongst the attendees that the Falklands should enter into peaceful negotiations presumably with the view that the outcome of the talks would result in Argentine sovereignty over the British Overseas Territory.

The Argentine Foreign Minister also wanted to push the conference to recognise the Falklands as an Argentine entity only.
