AN UPDATE ON GERRY MURPHY’S MEMORIAL SERVICE

By J. Brock (FINN)

A memorial service for the late Reverend Canon John Gervase Maurice Walker (Gerry) Murphy LVO will be held at the Chapel Royal at St Peter Vincula on Friday, 30 May 2014 at 1400hrs.

According to Mrs Joy Murphy the preacher will be the Reverend Robin Alderson an adjutant at Sandhurst who Gerry Murphy knew well and the eulogy will be presented by Mr Michael Mates MP, another long-standing friend.

Mrs Murphy also added that it was Rev Alderson who sat up all night with Rev Canon Murphy and prayed for him during an illness in 2013 that nearly took his life.

Readers will be supplied by The East India Club and Mr Roger Hall.

Members of the public who remember Rev Canon Murphy are most welcome to attend. Libation in memory of Rev Canon Murphy will follow the service.
