- A long-line vessel, Insung 22, licensed to fish in South Georgia waters has sustained a fire on Tuesday, 16 June 2009 at lunchtime and the Government of South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands (SGSSI) was notified at approximately 1400hrs LMT.

- 6: Falklands Busk Raises £218 for Musequality - Falklands (Heritage) - 18.06.2009
 - Thanks to students from the Falkland Islands Community School, the Dog Handling Section at MPC, Police Chief Paul Elliott and the Band of the Royal Logistical Corps, the grand total of £218.00 was raised in aid of Musequality, a UK-based charity, funds communal music projects for some of the poorest children in the developing world.

- 7: Young Falklands' Drivers Face Off Road Challenge - Falklands (Heritage) - 18.06.2009
 - Last week saw service personnel taking to the roads in their Landrovers and demonstrating some excellent driving at Mount Pleasant Complex (MPC) during a “Young Drivers’ Challenge”. The competition aimed to practice and enhance the driving skills of drivers in order to promote and improve road safety within the Falkland Islands especially those within the 17 – 25 year age group.

 - Falkland Island Government Chief Executive, Tim Thorogood and eight other Heads of Department were invited for a visit to Mount Pleasant Complex earlier this week. New Command Secretary Simon Cole hosted the event which started with a briefing by Commander British Forces Air Commodore Gordon Moulds MBE on the role of Armed forces in the South Atlantic.
