- All Elected members were present at this meeting of EXCO. Gilly Francis attended as Acting Chief Secretary and in the light of the absence of the Financial Secretary I invited Tony Kilner to attend in order to advise us on matters financial.

- In spite of the overcast weather conditions, approximately 85 people attended the “Raising the Flag for our Armed Forces” ceremony which was held in front of the Court House in Jamestown on Saturday, 26th June.

- The June meeting had a long agenda of more than 30 papers. The first summarised the review of the Partnering Agreement with Morrisons.

- A meeting of the General Purposes Committee was held on Wednesday, 23 June 2010. On Friday, 25 June 2010 The Hon Mrs Jan Cheek MLA spoke to the media about what happened during that important committee meeting.

 - Robert Hannigan, Director General Defence & Intelligence for HMG has paid a flying visit to the Falklands. He arrived on Thursday, 24 June and left on Saturday, 26 June 2010 in order to carry out a familiarisation visit.

- 6: Mount Pleasant Airfield Runway Resurfacing Update 16 June 2010 - Falklands (Tourism/Travel) - 29.06.2010
- As the runway at Mount Pleasant Airfield (MPA) is now 25yrs old it needs to be resurfaced. The main runway and some taxiways at MPA will be resurfaced by the engineering company COLAS between September 2010 and early 2011.

- At its monthly meeting, Executive Council confirmed a decision that Family Allowance should no longer be paid for children who have reached their 16th birthday.

- A small town in Chile is to benefit from the £26,600.19 that was raised after an 8.8 earthquake hit that country in February.

- The Falklands have marked the 28th anniversary of liberation with a service at Christ Church Cathedral officiated by the Rev Richard Hines who welcomed visiting veterans as well as H. E. the Governor Mr Alan and Mrs Helen Huckle, Commander British Forces, Commodore Philip Thicknesse and Mrs Thicknesse, Members of Legislative Assembly, and the general public.

- The only agenda item was about the revision of fuel prices. It was an Information Paper that arose from the decision at the previous EXCO to flex fuel prices to reflect importation costs. In the light of that earlier paper, prices had changed on 4th June to 80p per litre for diesel (6p up) and £1.30 per litre for petrol, (6p down).

- Tourism is a key target area in developing St Helena’s economy. To this end, a new Provisional Tourism Commission has been appointed whose task will be to oversee the future development of our tourist industry.
